Setting up Hyper-V on Windows 10
This is a quick reminder of the steps to setting up Hyper-V on Windows 10
- Boot you PC and go into the BIOS setup;
- Enable virtualisation support;
- Save settings and reboot PC into Windows 10;
- Open “Programs & Features Settings -> System -> Apps & Features -> [Related settings section] Programs & Features”;
- Click “Turn Windows Features on or off”;
- Tick Hyper-V;
- Click OK;
- Reboot PC when prompted;
- Open “Hyper-V Manager” (Start -> Windows Administrative Tools -> Hyper-V Manager);
- Set up a virtual switch in Hyper-V manager;
- If you are using a separate NIC for your normal connection and Virtual machine’s connections you can untick “Allow management operating system to share this network adapter” otherwise leave it ticked. If you’re not sure then leave it ticked.
- Set up your virtual machines as required.
